Sanasana Village Tour

Explore the Fijian Village of Sanasana with a local villager as your guide. The village still has remains of it old chiefly Temple which dates back several hundred years, from the times of Cannibalism. Sanasana Village is closest village to the resort and traditional landowners of the area. When entering a Fijian village women sound dress modestly and hats and caps removed.

Meke Dance Show

The local women of Sanasana village performs their unique and traditional Meke dance shows for guests of Yatule to lively Fijian song and music. The Men perform a loud and energetic display of war dance, traditionaly performed to scare of invading tribes away, dont get to close or you might get wacked by a war club!


Traditional Lovo Feast

Lovo is the name of the Fijian ground oven, this is the Fijian form of preparing food for a feast or special occasion. The preparation involves heating a bed of large pebble rocks in a ground pit with a open fire until rocks are hot enough, then the fire is cleared and the food is wrapped with leaves and placed on top of the hot rocks, covered with coconut palm leaves, and finally covered with soil to seal the heat. The outcome is a perfectly cooked and smoked taste. A must try, and Fijian delicacy...
